Our Story
Man of Vision
From a vision of a man who simply wants to train responders to provide proper first aid to save lives, it paved the way and laid the foundation to the evolution of the country's premier emergency response training center "Metro Vision".
In 2006, Dr. Melvin Villaruz established the Metro Vision for the simple reason of giving basic training to responders on how to do proper first aid, disaster management awareness and preparedness. However in 2009, when Metro Manila was hit by typhoon Ondoy, it unmasked the evident lack of training and preparation of the emergency responders against a call of a more catastrophic event. After this, Dr. Melvin Villaruz came up with the realization to become better and he took this as a challenge. As an answer to this call, he decided to make a reroute and took a more modern and scientific technical approach in emergency response, disaster management, training and assessment. He enrolled in emergency trainings, attended seminars both local and abroad and was recognized for his hard work and dedication. He demonstrated that he is a catalyst of a modern, scientific, efficient, effective and systematic approach to emergency response.
Since then, Metro Vision raised the bar on disaster management awareness and preparedness. This is the answer to the rising number of emergency cases in the Philippines.
Through trainings and seminars, Metro Vision takes inspiration from the millions of Filipinos whose lives may have been saved or less injured. Driven by this inspiration, Metro Vision continues to spearhead the country in producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills and the desire to help for the betterment of the people. Metro Vision stands firm in its commitment to be a leader in providing quality training, promoting morals and values taking into account the general welfare of the Filipino people.
Dr. Melvin Villaruz is inspired by his unparalleled drive to help save lives . The Man of Vision laid the foundation of the country's premier school for modern emergency response training which is now called "Metro Vision EMS and Disaster Management Training and Assessment Center "
